Avocados are one of my favorite foods!
This super food is loaded with health benefits:
- Reduces heart disease risk – Studies have shown that eating the monounsaturated (healthier) fat that is high in avocado is a better alternative than reducing total fat intake all together.
- Lowers cholesterol – Plant sterols which are high in avocado have shown to lower cholesterol.
- Protects your unborn baby – One cup of avocado has about a 1/4 of your recommended folate intake, a vitamin which cuts the rate of birth defects.

A Potential Allergic Reaction:
- Those that are allergic to latex have a higher probability to have an allergic reaction to avocado. This reaction is known as latex-fruit syndrome and can cause abdominal pain, and vomiting and could be life-threatening.
