Active Release Therapy
What is Active Release Therapy?
Active Release Technique (ART), or Active Release Therapy is a treatment technique used to locate and quickly resolve soft tissue injuries.
The treatment focuses on finding and removing scar tissues in the body. This scar tissue is found in both acute and chronic conditions affecting muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and fascia. In our treatments we utilize movement and manual therapy to remove restrictions, improve mobility and reduce pain.
Naturally as we age there is an increased amount of scar tissue in our body. This is through the accumulation of years of acute traumas and any repetitive actions we did through our lives. The reduction in function can alter you movements patterns and ranges of motion which lead to a repetitive strain injury.
